ORION Tunneling Cable Reel

ORION cable reels are specially designed and manufactured for feeding mobile power systems. Power is transmitted via electrical cables, low or medium voltage, to machines operating in tunnels, in yards or in harsh environmental conditions. Therefore ORION cable reels are integrated into other machines as a component. For this reason it is usually controlled by the machine it is integrated into; it can be equipped with an independent control panel on request.

ORION cable reels, are equipped with an automatic cable distributor for proper winding of the cables. Normally it can wind up to 1500 m of cable and this machine is the best, technically speaking, in order to wind such lengths of cables. The slip rings assembled on ORION cable reels can be installed both inside and outside the spool.

Support: Hot shaped steel beams RAL 9001 white painted.

Reduction gear:

  • Cast-iron high resistance casing  gray painted.
  • Special casehardened and ground steel gears.
  • High resistance steel shafts.
  • Oil-bath lubrication.

Electric Motor:

  • 230/400 Vac Voltage three-phase 50 Hz.
  • Protection IP 55, Class F isolation.
  • Aluminum case up to 132, cast iron for bigger dimensions.
  • Blue painted.

Electric collector:

  • Inside/outside the drum.
  • Cast alloy bronze power rings, brass auxiliary rings, Power and auxiliary copper-graphite brushes.
  • Plastic reinforced by fiber glass  insulators.

Bolts and Nuts: Galvanized steel 8.8 mm.

Moving rotor: Drive chain, protected in into the frame in steel plates.

HYDRA Tunneling Cable Reel

HYDRA cable reels are specially designed and manufactured for feeding mobile power systems that have limited installation space. This cable reel is manufactured with slip rings inside the spool and support frame of the drum without a shoulder in order to adapt to any lack of space. Power is transmitted via electrical cables, low or medium voltage, to machines operating in tunnels, in yards or in harsh environmental conditions. Therefore HYDRA cable reels are integrated into other machines as a component.

The feeding is done by hoses that carry air, water or other fluids to machines operating in tunnels, in yards or in harsh environmental conditions. Therefore AVTM hose reels are integrated into other machines as a component. For this reason it is usually controlled by the machine it is integrated into; it can be equipped with an independent control panel on request.

NAMI Tunneling Cable Reel

Additional information

The NAMI series cable reels, in NAMI-S (standard) or NAMI-E (extended) version, are designed to be used on board machinery working in tunnels.

They have very small dimensions and the option of regulating both the winding and unwinding torque. It has a stationing brake and can be braked manually
